In his speech, the Chairman of the Dak Lak provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Ngoc Cu, reviewed the significance of the historic victory which paved the way for the Tay Nguyen campaign and the Spring 1975 General Uprising to liberate southern Vietnam for national unification.

Over the past 35 years, Dak Lak has ironed out snags and effectively tapped into its potential for economic development in order to become a leader in producing, processing and exporting coffee in the country.

Dak Lak has maintained political stability and national security for years while developing Buon Ma Thuot into a first tier city in the province.

President Triet praised Buon Ma Thuot’s tremendous achievements over the past year, which have contributed to provincial development.

On the occasion, diverse cultural and sports activities were launched, including a photo exhibition on 35-years of socio-economic achievements in Buon Ma Thuot as well as a quiz contest on the 70-year history of Dak Lak’s Party Committee and the Buon Ma Thuot victory.
