Vibrant Can Cau Saturday market in Lao Cai

VOV.VN - The Can Cau market in the Si Ma Cai district in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai can be found open for business each Saturday.

The market is in the typical style of a market belonging to ethnic minority groups including the Giay, Mong, and Hoa people of the northwestern region.
It is located on Lao Cai provincial highway 153 which connects Bac Ha town with Si Ma Cai border town.
The market usually begins early in the morning and runs until the afternoon every Saturday and during the holidays.
On the higher ground is a residential market, whilst on the low ground is a buffalo market where hundreds of the animals are put on sale.
Local agricultural products such as honey, vegetable, fruit, duck, and pork can be found throughout the market.
