(VOV) -Over 1,000 visitors attended a biennial Elephant Race held in Krong Na commune, Buon Don district, in the Central Highland province of Dak Lak on March 12.
About 18 elephants participated in a swimming race across the Serepok River, and in a friendly football playing competition.
A wide range of activities including a prayer for the elephants’ health; traditional Xoang dance performance, a traditional ethnic costume show, and a gong music performance were also held.
The festival is one of the traditions of Buon Don district’s ethnic minority people to help preserve and develop their distinctive culture.
