Ba Na ethnic group prays for peace in Hanoi

(VOV) -An art troupe from Ba Na ethnic minority group depicted a “Pray For Peace” Festival within the framework of the "ASEAN great unity days - One vision, one identity, one community" recently held at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi.

The long-standing traditional festival, usually called Puh hơ drih Peace Festival, aims to show gratitude to the heaven and earth for giving villagers health and pray for favourable weather, bumper crops and happiness.

Before the Puh hơ drih, villagers clean their homes and villages, and musical instruments and clothing. They make 4 dummies from farm products, and kill pigs, goats, and chickens to prepare for the event. After the worshiping ceremony, people have a get-together, playing gongs, dancing and playing traditional games.
