The Planning and Investment Department of the northeastern coastal province of Quang Ninh on April 13 handed over licences to two foreign direct investment projects worth over US$5.7 million in total.

Accordingly, a joint venture between Holland's Vietnam Hotel Project B.V. and central Da Nang city's Golden Field Tourism and Trade Ltd. Co. will build a US$4.7-million floating resort in Ha Long Bay in the province, while a Chinese-Vietnamese joint venture will invest US$1 million in high speed ship services and aquatic breeding.

The department also granted an operation licence to the Vietnam Daiichi Life Insurance Company to open a representative office.
