More than 30 naval vessels take part in the parade, including Kilo-636 submarines, missile frigates, fast-attack missile craft, anti-submarine frigates, DHC-6 seaplanes, Ka-28 anti-submarine helicopters, as well as units from the Coast Guard, Border Guard, and maritime militia.

The parade formation features creative and imposing shapes such as the letters “A” and “V,” and diamond patterns, underscoring both solemnity and military ingenuity.

During the naval parade, the highlight is the missile frigate, a versatile warship equipped with modern anti-ship and air-defense missile systems, capable of conducting offshore combat operations.

The Gepard 3.9 missile frigates feature high maneuverability, a wide operational range, and the ability to withstand level-12 waves. They are capable of conducting independent combat operations or coordinating with other forces to destroy targets at sea, in the air, and on shore.

In preparation for the event, naval units have undergone more than two months of training under the harsh conditions of the East Sea.

The Kilo 636 submarine, a pride of the Vietnam People’s Navy, is famously dubbed the ‘black hole of the ocean.’

Equipped with modern missile systems, it can strike targets on land and at sea, while also evading enemy air-defence fire and automatically detecting and destroying targets with precision.

At the same time, the sky is filled with a display by anti-submarine Ka-28 helicopters and DHC-6 seaplanes flying in formation.
