Vietnam and Uganda established diplomatic ties in February 1973, and 2023 will mark 50 years of bilateral diplomacy. The two-way trade turnover between the two countries reached US$14.3 million last year, up 39.8% year on year. As of October 2022, Uganda had three investment projects in Vietnam, while the latter had two investment projects in the former with a total investment of US$35.5 million. During his stay till November 25, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is scheduled to meet with other senior Vietnamese leaders, including Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
