At Bach Dang Wharf Park on March 15 evening, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of External Relations and the Consulate General of Japan in the city jointly hold a ceremony to debut decorative art lights - a project to mark 50 years of the Vietnam - Japan diplomacy.

The decorative space consists of 500,000 LED lights, featuring two main themes: the Vietnamese lotus lake inspired by fresh blooming lotus flowers on blue water, and Sakura garden which features Japanese cherry blossoms.

Tran Phuoc Anh, director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of External Relations, emphasizes that Vietnam and Japan have become important partners of each other across many fields since they established diplomatic relations in September, 1973.

Watanabe Nobuhiro, consul general of Japan, notes that Japan supports Vietnam international integration and further socio-economic development.
