The photo contest ran from July to mid-October, receiving 9,069 entries from 705 amateur and professional photographers from 38 countries and territories around the world. An image by Dutch photographer Marcel Van Balken wins the Image Sans Frontiere (ISF) Gold Medal in the daily life section.

The event is carried out by the Ho Chi Minh City Photographic Association (HOPA), under the patronage of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP). An artwork produced by Woodpecker Huang of Taiwan (China) secures the FIAP Gold Medal in the open colour section.

The awards receive the recognition of the Photographic Society of America (PSA), the Image Sans Frontiere (ISF) label, and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA). A PSA Gold Medal is also given to a photograph by local author Bach Thi To Anh.
