COVID-19: Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital lifts 14-day lockdown

Local authorities cordoned off the Health Ministry-run hospital two weeks ago when a patient was diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. As many as 99 COVID-19 cases that are inpatients, their relatives and caregivers hailing from Hanoi and other neighbouring localities had been confirmed.

Relevant agencies immediately erected barriers around streets leading to the hospital’s entrance gates. Local residents living in the lockdown areas were required to stay indoors to minimize the risk of virus infection.

After the outbreak was kept in check, the hospital has been green-lighted to reopen its doors for patients and visitors moving into a new normal.

Relevant forces lift barriers overnight, facilitating people’s free movement around the hospital. Yet, local people are required to monitor their health themselves and strictly follow COVID-19 guidelines.

On-duty officials who had worked around the clock on different shifts are now happy to leave the checkpoints for home.

Healthcare workers are overjoyed that they can now return home with their relatives. Local people also take to the streets celebrating the lifting of the lockdown order.

Despite the lockdown order being lifted, the Ministry of Health has requested the hospital to continue implementing measures to prevent and control the disease in order to ensure safe examination and treatment.
