COVID-19 hotspot residents overjoyed as 21-day lockdown lifted

VOV.VN - More than 4,500 local people residing across three villages of Thuan Thanh district in Bac Ninh province, Vietnam’s second largest coronavirus hotspot, showed their delight when their 21-day lockdown order was eased at 10 p.m. on June 8.

The COVID-19 hotspot of Xuan Lam commune is home to 970 households which contain over 4,500 residents.

The lifting of the lockdown measure placed on the commune comes after three villages Duc Hiep, Da Tien and Xuan Le have seen no new cases during the past 21 days.

Since the first case was detected a month ago, the number of positive cases in Thuan Thanh district has increased to 576, or half of the total recorded in Bac Ninh.
