At present, Australia is Vietnam’s seventh-largest trading partner, while Vietnam ranks as Australia’s tenth largest. Bilateral trade has grown steadily, reaching over US$14 billion in 2024. Both sides have also actively expanded market access for each other’s agricultural products.

In addition to holding talks with President Luong Cuong, Australian Governor-General Sam Mostyn is scheduled to meet with other senior leaders of Vietnam. She will also attend the Vietnam–Australia Forum 2025, participate in the inauguration of the Australia–Vietnam Policy Institute, and visit Ho Chi Minh City for official engagements.
