The Mitsubishi Corporation has donated surgical equipment worth US$58,000 to help cataract patients in the northern province of Vinh Phuc.

The region's general hospital was recently upgraded to have about 450 beds, but lacked equipment to perform cataract surgeries.

Mitsubishi has carried out 14 charitable programmes annually since 1995.
