Mango exports start flowing to Japan unimpeded

(VOV) - Japanese border and customs inspectors have given clearance to an estimated 20 metric tons of mangoes over the past month, reports the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).

“There haven’t been any significant problems encountered obtaining the necessary phytosanitary certificates or with quarantine procedures,” said MARD official Nguyen Huu Dat.

Dat said the Yasaka Fruit Processing Company in Binh Duong and Good Life Company in Ho Chi Minh City started exporting mangos via air freight to Japan in November, 2015.

To save in costs he said shipments are now being made by sea transport.
