National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong cut the ribbon to inaugurate an exhibition on the late Party General Secretary Le Duan in Hanoi on April 5 in celebrations of his 100th birthday.

Le Duan was praised as an outstanding and military strategist of the Vietnamese revolution at a symposium held on the same day in Ho Chi Minh City.

The workshop drew over 100 revolutionary veterans who had fought besides the revolutionary leader and scientists and intellectuals in the city and several other southern provinces and cities.

Speeches and documentaries were released at the workshop, praising his great contributions to the Vietnamese revolution. They all confirmed that Le Duan was a talented successor of President Ho Chi Minh, an experienced revolutionary who had devoted his life to the struggle of people in the southern region against foreign aggressors as well as a profound theorist and a great activist.

From another angle, Le Duan was recognised as a strong supporter of traditional culture by another workshop in Hanoi, which was attended by almost 50 professors, scientific doctors and researchers.

Also on this occasion, the Publishing House under the Vietnam News Agency has released a photo book on the late Party General Secretary.

Published in Vietnamese and English, the book with 350 pictures vividly portrays Le Duan as an outstanding communist, a talented and close student of the late President Ho Chi Minh, an outstanding leader, and a talented ideologist, whose whole life was devoted to the ideals of national liberation, reunification and happiness for people.
