Labourers in southern Ben Tre province chosen to work in Japan under the sponsorship of the Japanese IMM trade union have taken part in an experimental preparatory training course.

The course, which was launched by the Department for Overseas Labour Management and the International Human Resources School, concentrated on providing trainees with Japanese language instruction, and basic knowledge on Japanese culture, traditions and regulations.

The course is also aimed at improving the trainees’ skills and physical fitness.

The IMM Trade Union said it would help Vietnam send more workers to Japan in 2006 if the model succeeded.
