Hanoi urged to uphold its vanguard role
VOV.VN - Hanoi needs to be a pioneer in promoting start-ups and creativity of Vietnam, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at a June 4 conference on investment and development cooperation.
The cabinet leader also suggested the capital city develop inter-regional connectivity and expand development spaces. On the occasion, Hanoi calls for investment in 52 projects with total capital of more than VND338 trillion.
At the conference, municipal leaders pledged to create favorable conditions and an open investment environment, and speed up administrative reform.
In his address, Secretary of the Hanoi municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai reiterated the city’s resolve to reach rapid and sustainable economic growth and pay greater attention to ensuring social security, improving living conditions for the people, and protecting the environment.
The city will create the most favourable conditions for start-up enterprises, Hai said, adding that specific measures will be taken to improve the quality and competitiveness of the economy.
The major focus will be on on building and upgrading infrastructure facilities, especially those for transport, water drainage and supply, electricity and telecommunications, he said.
