France to increase market share in Vietnam
(VOV) - Paris plans to double the market share of French businesses in Vietnam in the next four years, said French Minister of Foreign Trade Nicole Bricq.
The information was released on Radio France International after the French Minister’s visit to Vietnam.
Ms Nicole Bricq explained that French businesses’ market share in Vietnam was just 1 percent last year, compared to the average rate of 1.5 percent in the other South East Asian nations. She emphasized that with the average growth of 5 percent in recent years, Vietnam is an important market for French businesses but they rank second among European investors in the country.
During her visit to Vietnam earlier this week, the French minister officially launched the France-Vietnam Year, offering new prospects for bilateral cooperation, especially in the field of infrastructure such as plans to build a metro in Hanoi and develop small and medium-sized enterprises as well as major industrial groups.
