First hi-tech industrial park to be built in Dong Nai

Amata Long Thanh Joint Stock Company was granted an investment certificate at a ceremony held on July 22 to construct the first hi-tech industrial park in Long Thanh District in the southern province of Dong Nai.

The US$300-million project covering 410 hectares is expected to transform local lands into a modern, international-level IP that will boost the district’s socio-economic development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai underscored that the park’s establishment complies with provincial development strategies to lure hi-tech and supportive projects to the locality.

He also spoke highly of the contributions that the wholly Thai-invested Amata Vietnam Joint Stock Company has made to the province in the past 20 years while asking the company to enhance their efforts to implement the hi-tech IP project on schedule.

Thai said that the province is currently home to around 1,300 foreign projects with total capital of over US$26 billion.

For her part, SomhataiPanichewa, President of Amata Vietnam Joint Stock Company, highlighted that once operational, Long Thanh hi-tech park hopes to attract US$650-750 million in foreign capital and offer 60,000-220,000 jobs while creating a traffic system connecting the province with its vicinity.
