Finland helps develop Vietnam’s power grid
VOV.VN - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Hoang Quoc Vuong on March 7 launched construction of two major projects aimed at developing a smarter metering system for the nation’s electrical power grid.
The Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) projects are located at Tam Ky in central Quang Nam Province and Pleiku City in Gia Lai Province and have a combined initial budgeted cost of roughly US$4.5 million.
Vuong pointed out that in total the Finnish government has provided EVN an estimated US$11.5 million in preferential aid to develop the electrical grid in four cities across the country since 2006 and expressed gratitude for the assistance.
Work by the general contractor, Finland’s ABB Oy, has now begun and is scheduled for completion by the end of the second quarter of 2018.
