Ba Na –Suoi Mo road opens to traffic in Da Nang
(VOV) - A key thoroughfare was inaugurated by the Danang People’s Committee on April 25 to combat increasing traffic congestion in the city and promote tourism along with the economic development of the region.
The road leading from Hoang Van Thai street to the Ba Na-Suoi Mo tourist site will help alleviate congestion, facilitate trade, reduce road damage caused by heavy trucks driving through the city, and improve access to markets and basic social services.
“It is one of the most important and high profile roads of Danang linking the west and the north-western region of the city,” provincial leaders said at the inauguration ceremony.
The four-lane VND1,000 billion road is 10km long and 34 metres wide and has been designed to withstand speeds of 60km per hour. It will help shorten the distance and time it takes to travel from the central city of Da Nang to Ba Na-Suoi Mo tourist site considerably.
Huynh Duc Tho, chairman of the city People’s Committee said provincial leaders are hopeful that the road will boost tourism to the Ba Na-Suoi Mo tourism site and the western region of Da Nang.
