Nearly 160 young martial artists from the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Thailand and seven cities and provinces in Vietnam are competing in the 2011 Junior Taekwondo Open Championships in Hanoi on November 5-6.
The martial artists will be vying for 34 sets of medals; the RoK, Thailand and the Hanoi team are expected to top the final medal tally.
The annual championships aim to encourage children to practice Taekwondo and strengthen ties between Hanoi, other provinces and international friends.
