World's leading brewer to invest additional US$65 million in Hue

VOV.VN - Danish brewer Carlsberg is set to invest an additional US$65 million in its Phu Bai Brewery in Vietnam’s central city of Hue during the 2026-2031 period, focusing on production modernization, digital transformation, and green transition, affirming its long-term commitment to Vietnam.

The above information was published on the brewer's official website in Vietnam, in which Carlsberg affirmed its commitment to continued investment, operational expansion, and sustainable growth in Vietnam.

One of Carlsberg's notable plans in Vietnam is the proposed investment of around US$65 million in the Phu Bai Brewery in Hue during the 2026-2031 period.

According to the group's orientation, this investment will concentrate on modernizing production, accelerating digital transformation and green transition, enhancing supply chain capacity, while improving product quality and strengthening food safety standards.

The above plan follows the expansion project of the Phu Bai Brewery with a total investment of nearly US$90 million, which was inaugurated in August 2025.

Following the expansion, the brewery's annual production capacity increased by over 50%, making this facility Carlsberg's largest brewery in Asia.

In the subsequent phase, the enterprise plans to continue applying advanced production technologies, developing smart operational models, improving resource efficiency, and increasing the use of renewable energy.

These plans are expected to consolidate Hue's role in Carlsberg's regional production network while creating further foundations for the group's long-term investment activities in Vietnam.

CEO of Carlsberg Group Jacob Aarup-Andersen stated that Vietnam is one of Carlsberg's key growth markets. The group's confidence is built on more than three decades of presence, investment, and commitment to the Vietnamese market.

According to him, the Phu Bai Brewery expansion project serves as a testament to long-term investment commitment while enabling the enterprise to capture new growth opportunities.

Alongside Hue, Carlsberg is also poised to expand its business operations in the central city of Da Nang during the 2026-2031 period. The group is expected to focus on commercial development, accelerating digital transformation, modernizing operations, and building a more efficient and sustainable logistics system.

Within the framework of the Vietnamese leaders' visit to Denmark from October 19 to 21, Jacob Aarup-Andersen handed over Letters of Intent on investment commitments to the chairs of the Hue City People's Committee and the Da Nang City People's Committee. This move demonstrates the orientation to continue investing, expanding business operations, and accompanying the development of the two localities.
