Wood and timber exports climb to new heights

(VOV) - Vietnam wood and timber exports in the first 10 months of the year leading up to November jumped 12.8% on-year to US$4.98 billion, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).

In the month of October alone, MARD reports Vietnam exporters shipped US$528 million of wood and timber products abroad, continuing an uptrend in the market.

For the 10 month period exports to the US rose 14.35% and to Japan surged 22.03%. The Chinese market dipped 19% and was the only market that witnessed a decline.

The US, China and Japan were the top three importers of wood and timber products, accounting for 66.35% of the total export market.
