Webinar seeks French investment into Binh Duong
VOV.VN - The authorities of Binh Duong province in southern Vietnam called on French businesses to come and explore investment opportunities in the locality at a webinar held on April 26.
Binh Duong is committed to accompany, support and create the most favorable conditions for foreign investors, including French firms to do business in the province, Nguyen Van Danh, vice chairman of the provincial government, told the webinar.
He said the province will maintain regular dialogue channels with the business community both at home and abroad, in order to promptly adjust policies in line with the local development interests and the legitimate interests of the business community in the locality.
He stressed that Binh Duong prioritizes attracting investment from developed countries and leading potential partners in the world with modern management level, including French partners, in high-tech, environmentally friendly and less labor intensive industries that create products of high added value.
Binh Duong also wishes to call for investment in financial services, logistics, supporting industries, high-tech agriculture and especially in the sci-tech parks aiming to become the innovation center of the southern key economic region, he said.
Attending the webinar from Paris, Vietnamese ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang revealed France is the second largest FDI partner of Vietnam in the European Union with the total registered capital of more than US$3.6 billion, mainly in the fields of the processing industry, manufacturing and real estate.
France has strength in the fields of telecommunications, renewable energy, environment, biomedical industry, manufacturing industry, food industry, infrastructure and logistics services that are suitable for Vietnam’s orientation to attract foreign investment, said the ambassador.
The diplomat expressed his hope that the cooperative relations between France and Vietnam in general and Binh Duong in particular will make a breakthrough in the coming time.
French businesses attending the webinar were introduced to the investment environment in Vietnam and Binh Duong, as well as investment and commercial practices for French firms. Representatives of relevant agencies of Binh Duong answered questions of French businesses that are keen to learn about cooperation and investment opportunities.
