The World Bank-funded project will be carried out from now until June 2013 in nine provinces, namely the northern provinces of Thai Binh, Hung Yen and Ha Tay; the central provinces of Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Khanh Hoa; and the Mekong delta provinces of Tien Giang, Ben Tre and Vinh Long.
The project aims to establish a modern land use certificate registration, management and issuance system with complete administrative procedures of land management, making it transparent and accessible to the public.
The project also aims to raise public awareness of land management system and the benefits of land use registration in those localities.
The project is expected to make local people, including ethnic minority groups capable of accessing public land services almost in the same way as in other parts of the country.
