Vinamilk director general receives New Zealand ASEAN award

(VOV) - New Zealand Prime Minister John Key on November 16 presented a New Zealand ASEAN Scholar Award (NZAS) to Mai Kieu Lien, Vinamilk director general, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of New Zealand-ASEAN cooperative ties.

The New Zealand ASEAN Scholar Awards funded by the New Zealand Aid Programme, the New Zealand Government’s international aid and development programme are given exclusively to 40 outstanding individuals in 10 ASEAN countries. It aims to honour their contribution to bilateral cooperation between New Zealand and ASEAN.

At the awards ceremony, Mrs Lien said Vinamilk has cooperated with New Zealand for nearly 20 years in supplying milk and dairy products at reasonable prices. The awards will help strengthen relations between the two countries and their businesses in the future.

Earlier, Mrs Lien was the sole Vietnamese representative to get a Nikkei Asia Prize in Japan in May.

Vinamilk aims to be among top 50 largest dairy companies in the world in 2017. Its revenue in the third quarter of this year was VND10,549 billion, a year-on-year increase of 20.5%.

It also tops the list of the 50 most valuable brands listed on Vietnamese stock markets, according to UK-based Brand Finance.
