Vietnam’s exports to US jump 28.1% in 2025 on electronics surge

VOV.VN - Vietnam’s exports to the United States rose 28.1% year on year in 2025 to more than US$153.1 billion, driven by strong demand for electronics, machinery and garments, data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade showed.

High-tech products accounted for more than half of shipments, led by consumer electronics and smartphones, alongside traditional exports such as garments and footwear.

Exports of computers, electronic products and components jumped 81.3% to over US$42 billion, making up 27.4% of total shipments. Machinery, equipment and spare parts followed at US$24.1 billion, up 9.4%, while textiles and garments rose 10.7% to US$17.8 billion.

Several smaller categories posted sharp growth, including toys and sporting goods, which surged 260.3%, as well as glass and glass products (up 99.9%), coffee (up 56.9%), and electrical wires and cables (up 52.2%).

Agricultural products, seafood, furniture and decorative items also contributed significantly, supported by stable demand and competitive pricing.

The United States retained its position as Vietnam’s largest export market, while Vietnam emerged as a key trading partner and an important link in the US supply chain.

Vietnamese exports are expected to maintain robust growth in the US market, underpinned by expanding high-tech manufacturing capacity and established traditional industries.
