The tripartite cooperation agreement between Vietnam, the Republic of Namibia and the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) was officially signed at FAO headquarters in Italy on May 11.

Under the agreement, Vietnam will send its exports and technical worker to help Namibia run training courses for professional experts in the field of aquaculture.

Addressing the signing ceremony, FAO Assistant Director General Jose Maria Sumpsi spoke highly of Vietnam’s achievements in recent times, particularly, from a country facing a food shortage to becoming one of leading rice exporters in the world.

Vietnam ranked 6th in terms of seafood exports in the world last year.
