Vietnamese longans now available for sale on e-commerce platform
VOV.VN - Longans originating from the northern province of Hung Yen have now officially been put on sale on Sendo, one of Vietnam’s leading online marketplaces.
The tropical juicy fruit is being sold on a trial basis from August 3 to August 8, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Following the launch of this latest promotion, Sendo has become the first e-commerce platform to sell Hung Yen longans, enabling the fruit to reach Vietnamese consumers through a "virtual market".
The debut of longans going on sale through the digital platform is supported by the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy under the Ministry of Industry and Trade in partnership with online trading floor Sendo, along with other relevant agencies in various localities.
The scheme aims to introduce the fruit through e-commerce channels and support the consumption of local agricultural products amid the ongoing complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic locally.
Currently, the specialty fruit has been put on sale on Sendo with discounts ranging between 35% and 50%.
Other domestic major e-commerce platforms are co-ordinating with the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy in boosting the consumption of Hung Yen longans throughout August.
