Vietnamese localities promote cooperation with Australian partners
VOV.VN - A seminar was held Sydney, Australia, on August 14 to strengthen cooperation between three Vietnamese localities - Hue city, Dien Bien province and Tay Ninh province - with Australian partners.

The event, organised by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Diplomacy under Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attracted the participation of many businesses from the three Vietnamese localities alongside Australian enterprises and organisations.
In his opening remarks, Nguyen Thanh Tung, Consul General of Vietnam in Sydney, emphasised that locality-to-locality cooperation plays an important role in connecting Vietnam directly with international resources, technologies, and development expertise. He noted that Hue, Dien Bien, and Tay Ninh seek to enhance collaboration with Australia in renewable energy, high technology, hi-tech agriculture, digital transformation, logistics, import-export, tourism, and education.
He assured that the Consulate General would act as a bridge, supporting Australian partners in connecting with Vietnamese localities in mutually beneficial sectors.
At the seminar, leaders of the three provinces highlighted their cooperation priorities. Dien Bien is focusing on attracting investment in infrastructure, agriculture, and tourism services to accelerate urbanisation and turn tourism into a spearhead sector. Hue called on Australian investors to establish offices and factories in its economic and industrial zones, while leveraging its rich cultural and historical heritage to boost economic growth.
Meanwhile, Tay Ninh introduced its advantages in geographical location, infrastructure, and investment environment, inviting Australian businesses to invest in processing and manufacturing, digital transformation, finance, trade, and logistics.
Former Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski stressed that Vietnam and Australia have ample opportunities to cooperate in information technology, critical minerals, education, energy, agriculture, and logistics.
Representatives of Business New South Wales also expressed their strong interest in working with Hue, Dien Bien, and Tay Ninh, particularly in renewable energy and education.

During the event, several Vietnamese and Australian companies presented their projects, signed memoranda of understanding, and explored opportunities in clean energy, building materials, and education. Australian firms, including C-COAT, expressed interest in establishing a presence in Vietnam, with plans to set up production facilities for energy-saving thermal insulation products to serve both domestic and regional markets.
In his closing remarks, Nguyen Dong Trung, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Diplomacy, underlined that the seminar demonstrated the positive development of the Vietnam–Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Built on political trust and economic complementarity, this partnership provides a strong foundation for expanded cooperation across all fields, including local-level collaboration. He reaffirmed that Vietnam is a reliable destination for Australian businesses seeking long-term investment opportunities.
