Vietnamese handicrafts a hit at trade fair in India
(VOV) - Vietnamese traditional rattan and bamboo handicrafts of artisans Nguyen Van Tinh and Nguyen Phuong Quang were a feature attraction on November 14 at the 34th India International Trade Fair (IITF) which kicked off in New Delhi, India.
The opening of the two-week event themed, Women Entrepreneurs, expected to attract in excess of two million visitors, saw the participation of thousands of enterprises from more than 25 nations around the globe.
Artisan Nguyen Van Tinh said this is the first time his company, Viet Quang Co, Ltd, has taken part in the trade fair in India. He said his company from the Chuong My district of Hanoi exports around 60% of its products.
The company’s major customers historically have been Japan and China but now it is looking to expand into the other foreign markets through the participation of international trade fairs.
Tinh expressed hope that his company would be successful in introducing its rattan and bamboo products to the world’s second largest populous market.
