Vietnamese enterprises step up agricultural and food promotion at SIAL Paris 2026

VOV.VN - As many as 38 Vietnamese enterprises are introducing key agricultural items, including specialty rice, cashew nuts, fruits and vegetables, pepper, cinnamon, star anise, and processed fruit juices, at the SIAL Paris 2026 International Food Exhibition running from October 17 to 21 in France.

The national pavilion, launched by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, spans 354 square meters, marking the largest scale to date in terms of display area and number of participants.

Vietnamese enterprises have brought key agricultural items to the exhibition, including specialty rice, cashew nuts, fruit and vegetables, pepper, cinnamon, star anise, and processed fruit juices.

Alongside traditional goods, many enterprises are focusing on deep processing to add value and meet green, organic, and convenient consumption trends, thereby seeking new customers and expanding export markets, particularly in Europe.

In a press interview, Vu Anh Son, Vietnamese Trade Counselor in France, highlighted the expanded scale and organizational format of the Vietnamese pavilion.

He noted that the delegation organized by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency at SIAL Europe's largest food exhibition features 38 enterprises, marking an increase of nearly 30% in both enterprise count and exhibition area.

According to Son, the shift toward deep processing meets European market demands regarding sustainability and product quality.

In the rice sector, Vietnam National Seed Group (Vinaseed) is introducing high-end product lines targeting segments with stringent quality and nutritional requirements.

Meanwhile, Vilaconic is showcasing standard-compliant rice and pepper products while focusing on developing clean farming areas to overcome strict European Union regulations on pesticide residue limits. Regarding spices, the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) is participating alongside more than 15 enterprises.

Chairwoman Hoang Thi Lien stated that despite challenges facing spice exports to Europe in 2026, product quality has noticeably improved, with technical warnings issued by the EU dropping significantly compared to the previous year.

She recommended that regulatory bodies adopt flexible, long-term trade promotion policies to help enterprises maintain their presence in strategic markets.

The participation of Vietnamese enterprises at SIAL Paris 2026 shows ongoing efforts to diversify products, push up deep processing, and expand distribution networks. To enhance competitiveness and spur sustainable export growth in Europe, Vietnamese enterprises must continue controlling quality, ensuring food safety, building brand equity, and maintaining stable supply capacities.
