Vietnam welcomes largest-ever US business delegation
VOV.VN - The largest-ever US business delegation, featuring top companies across energy, technology, defence, aviation, manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, finance, and investment, is on a visit to Vietnam to explore new opportunities and boost economic ties.

On March 18, the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) hosted a press briefing to mark the delegation’s visit. The group includes representatives from 64 major US corporations, including Apple, Boeing, Intel, Nike, Amazon, Pacifico Energy, and Meta.
In his opening remarks, USABC President, former Ambassador Ted Osius, highlighted that during his recent working visit to the US, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien attended and witnessed the signing of multiple cooperation agreements and procurement contracts between Vietnamese and US businesses.
Ted Osius also expressed confidence that in the near future, more Vietnamese delegations and global investors will travel to the US to participate in SelectUSA, the country’s premier foreign investment promotion event.
According to Osius, Vietnam is the fastest-growing economy in Southeast Asia and continues to attract record-high foreign direct investment (FDI). The US is now Vietnam’s second-largest trading partner, while Vietnam ranks eighth among the US’s top trade partners.
At the event, representatives of major US businesses reaffirmed their commitment to expanding investment in Vietnam.
Pacifico Energy lauds Vietnam’s bold economic reforms
A representative of Pacifico Energy outlined the company’s investment plans in Vietnam, praising Party General Secretary To Lam for his bold and decisive economic reforms. The company also acknowledged the Vietnamese government’s efforts in removing investment barriers, promoting a business-friendly environment, and increasing imports from the US.
Pacifico Energy sees Vietnam as a high-potential market for offshore wind power and aims to be a leading partner in strengthening the country’s energy security while paving the way for more US investors. The company believes enhanced energy cooperation will further solidify the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Meta expands investment, develops AI in Vietnam
At the event, a Meta representative outlined the company’s long-term investment plans in Vietnam. Meta is set to expand its metaverse ecosystem, accelerate its development, and create 1,000 new jobs in high technology.
The company is also collaborating with partners to establish Vietnam’s largest AI and big data infrastructure, with a special focus on Vietnamese-language AI tools to better serve local users.
Since 2017, Meta has worked with Vietnam National University, Hanoi to provide digital skills training for students nationwide. This year, the company plans to introduce an AI training program tailored for university students in Vietnam.
