Vietnam records sharp decline in medical mask exports

VOV.VN - Vietnam exported a total of 12.9 million medical face masks of all kinds in October, representing a drop of 24.2% against September, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

Exports have recorded a decline after seeing a rise for two consecutive months, according to the department.

Accordingly, businesses exported 16.2 million and 17.02 million face masks in August and September, up 189.2% and 5.1% month on month.

The October figure raised the total number of medical face masks shipped abroad in the initial 10 months of the year to 135.02 million.

Last year Vietnam exported more than 453.15 million medical face masks, although the peak was recorded in 2020 with 1.37 billion pieces exported.
