Vietnam pumps up oil exports to China

(VOV) - Vietnam exported a record amount of oil to China in the two months leading up to March with shipments surging 62.5% on-year to 300,000 tonnes, according to recently released official statistics.

Vietnam’s crude exports in February were down 2.8% in volume to 792,000 tonnes but up 18.3% in value to US$359 million, compared to a month earlier, customs data showed.

For two month January-February period, Australia was the second largest export market at 248,000 tonnes (up 13.6%) followed by Malaysia at 231,000 tonnes (up 15.3%).

Most notably Singapore exports shot up nearly six fold on year to 224,000 tonnes.
