Vietnam ranked fifth in a list of Asia’s best investment destinations for foreign firms, according to a survey conducted by financial advisory firm Ernst & Young and the Japan External Trade Organization.
China and Japan shared first place in the survey of more than 200 international company executives.
The runner-up was India, followed by Singapore and Hong Kong sharing third place and the Republic of Korea, holding fourth place.
In terms of foreign direct investment, China ranked first, attracting 38 percent of the total capital invested in Asia last year, Vietnam, 260th and India, 676th.
