Vietnam named official Partner Country of Startup Village 2026 in Russia
VOV.VN - Vietnam has officially been named the Partner Country of Startup Village 2026, one of the largest technology and innovation forums in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), held at the Skolkovo Innovation Centre in Moscow.
The announcement was made during the opening ceremony of the two-day forum on May 28, attended by thousands of startup founders, investors, technology firms and innovation organisations from more than 20 countries.
This year’s Startup Village is organised as a technology festival designed to connect major corporations seeking practical technology solutions with startups offering innovative products and services.
The event features market-focused technology discussions, startup pitching sessions, product showcases and networking activities aimed at strengthening cooperation between businesses, investors and innovation communities.
As part of the forum, Vietnam’s National Innovation Centre (NIC) and Russia’s Skolkovo Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding to promote bilateral cooperation in innovation, startup acceleration and technology transfer.
The partnership is expected to pave the way for joint technology projects, startup exchange programs and collaborative research commercialization between the two countries.
According to Timur Kornilov, managing director for Strategic International Partnership, Knowledge and Technology Transfer at the Skolkovo Foundation, the agreement with Vietnam aims to expand cooperation in technology acceleration programmes and startup development.
The cooperation framework also includes plans for hackathons and joint initiatives with Vietnam’s TASCO Group to identify solutions in smart transportation, artificial intelligence and digital data systems.
Founded by the Russian government in 2010, the Skolkovo Foundation operates as Russia’s leading innovation hub and is home to more than 6,000 technology companies specialising in information technology, artificial intelligence, energy and biotechnology.
Startup Village has been organised annually since 2013 and has become a major platform for technology collaboration and startup investment across the region.
