VOV.VN - Participating as a partner country, Vietnam has made a prominent presence at the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2026, which opened on September 25 in India, featuring a delegation of over 30 enterprises alongside a wide range of multi-sector promotion activities.
UPITS 2026 takes place from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Centre & Mart, gathering over 2,400 exhibitors from seven countries. It is the largest exhibition in Uttar Pradesh, India’s third-largest economy with a population of over 246 million, the highest in the country.
The event aims to connect manufacturers, exporters, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), investors, and international trade partners, reinforcing Uttar Pradesh's role as an international manufacturing and supply hub.
Alongside Vietnam, the trade show features five other partner countries, including Japan, Russia, Singapore, Austria, and Belarus. It is expected to attract over 550 international buyers, approximately 15,000 B2B exchange partners, and more than 450,000 general visitors.
The Vietnamese Embassy and Trade Office in India have launched a broad array of activities to promote economic cooperation, trade, investment, innovation, tourism, aviation, culture, cuisine, and fashion, thereby promoting Vietnam's image and establishing substantive connections between the Vietnamese business community and the market in Uttar Pradesh and India.
According to Vietnamese Ambassador to India Trinh Minh Manh, compared to other partner countries, Vietnam is deploying a large force comprising over 30 enterprises, models, designers, and chefs, bringing diverse elements ranging from culture and trade to investment to UPITS. In addition to commercial contents, the Vietnamese delegation also introduces opportunities to explore investment in the high-potential state of Uttar Pradesh to expand cooperation for domestic enterprises.
Covering an area of about 100 square meters, the Vietnam Pavilion stands out at the event with four product category zones: fruit, agricultural products, and processed food; industrial goods, consumer goods, footwear, and textiles; tourism, aviation, and Vietnamese cuisine promotion; and other goods. Many Indian enterprises, as well as foreign companies participating in the fair, visited to examine products, services, and cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese partners.
Vietnamese Trade Counselor in India Bui Trung Thuong noted that the embassy and trade office have worked actively to identify new aspects in bilateral relations. The objective set for participating in this fair is to promote connectivity in five sectors, including trade and investment, aviation, tourism, cuisine, and culture. He expressed hope that through the program, relations between Vietnam and India in general, and between localities of the two countries in particular, will be further enhanced, laying a foundation for Vietnamese enterprises and investors to invest in India.
Aside from displaying products and services of Vietnamese enterprises, the delegation co-ordinated business forum sessions themed "Connecting Businesses, Promoting Innovation" to strengthen partnerships between enterprises of both countries.
Within the framework of the trade show, Vietnamese chefs prepared distinctive dishes using Indian ingredients, creating a cultural exchange experience through cuisine. This was accompanied by traditional musical instrument performances by artists from home, and notably a fashion show combining Vietnamese and Indian models, alongside spouses of embassy and agency staff, wearing Ao dai (traditional long dress).
The Vietnam - Uttar Pradesh Culture, Cuisine, and Fashion Gala left a deep impression on viewers, serving as an exchange program showcasing Vietnam's traditional identity alongside its dynamic integration, while portraying an impressive picture of Vietnam - India cultural intersection.
Through all-day activities ranging from the Vietnam Pavilion, high-level meetings, economic-trade-investment forums, B2B sessions, tourism-aviation to culture, cuisine, and fashion, Vietnam expects UPITS 2026 to become an important connection point for enterprises and people in Uttar Pradesh and India to understand more about Vietnam, while expanding opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to access one of India's major markets.
