Vietnam leads in fish fillet export to Brazil

(VOV) - Vietnam exported to Brazil 44,000 tonnes of tra (catfish) in the first eight months of this year, surpassing China (33,000 tonnes) to top the list of frozen fish fillet exports to the country, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP). 

By September 15, Vietnam’s tra fish exports to Brazil had earned US$86.2 million, showing a year-on-year increase of 19%.

Brazil has been Vietnam’s second largest tra fish importer, only after the US.

In 2013, Brazil joined the top 10 largest importers of Vietnamese seafood with a total value of US$123 million, of which the import value of tra fish made up 99% worth US$122 million.
