Vietnam International Woodworking Industry Fair slated for Oct. 18-21

VOV.VN - The 2022 Vietnam International Woodworking Industry Fair (VietnamWood 2022) is scheduled to run from October 18 to October 21 in Ho Chi Minh City.

This information was unveiled at a press conference held on October 5 by the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA).

Addressing the event, Nguyen Chanh Phuong, vice chairman of HAWA, emphasised that VietnamWood is the leading trade show in Southeast Asia in the primary and secondary wood processing industry and aims to accelerate the technological transformation of the local wood processing industry to new heights.

The event is anticipated to introduce a range of the latest technological solutions and trends to the Vietnamese wood processing industry, Phuong added.

This year’s trade show is set to attract the participation of more than 250 businesses from 24 different countries and regions around the world, featuring the involvement of popular local and foreign brands in the industry.

Those businesses from Canada, France, Germany, Russia and other countries are expected to use the platform to introduce the global value chain in the wood processing industry and help strengthen connectivity with Vietnamese enterprises.

Le Duc Hieu, project director of Vetta Company, revealed that the trend of production automation is becoming increasingly mainstream  to reduce the number of direct labourers and replace them with machinery technology.

He added that the fair will also help local enterprises to design specialised products in the future, reduce production costs, improve designs, and generate additional profits.

A number of seminars will be held throughout the event as a means of sharing knowledge in the field of technology transformation and introducing automation trends and smart solutions for the wood industry in the digital age, thereby turning Vietnam into one of the leading wood processing hubs throughout Southeast Asia.
