Vietnam deepens integration into global organic agricultural value chains

VOV.VN - Within the framework of the National Trade Promotion Programme of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association (VOAA) organized a Vietnam Pavilion at Biofach 2026, the world’s leading trade fair for organic food, held from February 11 to 13 at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre in Germany.

The Vietnam Pavilion featured seven representative organic enterprises and was described by VOAA as more than a trade promotion activity. It also aimed to enhance the international image and competitiveness of the national organic brand “Organic of Vietnam”, support enterprises in meeting international standards, and promote green transformation and sustainable agricultural exports.

Vietnamese companies displayed a wide range of organic products, including cashew kernels and roasted cashews, pepper, cinnamon, star anise, tea, spices, essential oils and organic detergents.

Long-standing exhibitors such as Vinasamex, Hiep Thanh, FNB, Long Son and Hanfimex participated alongside first-time exhibitor Sen Capital.

Pham Minh Duc, a standing board member of VOAA and head of the Vietnamese business delegation to Biofach,

Pham Minh Duc, head of VOAA Inspection Board, who led the Vietnamese business delegation to Biofach, said this marked the ninth time the association had organized Vietnam’s participation in the fair, citing Biofach’s position as the world’s most prestigious organic agriculture event.

He noted that meeting European organic standards and working directly with European buyers provides Vietnamese enterprises with a gateway to the EU market and beyond.

According to Minh Duc, many Vietnamese companies that first joined Biofach at an early stage of development have since recorded strong growth and are now able to participate independently, maintaining market presence and expanding their customer base.

He added that Vietnamese organic enterprises are gradually shifting from exporting raw materials to developing processed products and building their own brands, showing growing confidence and deeper integration into global value chains.

From the business perspective, Phung Sam, chairman of Hanfimex Group, said participation in Biofach helps enterprises adapt production methods to market demand and identify new trends, adding that the global organic market is expected to continue expanding as demand for safe and healthy food rises.

First-time participant Sen Capital introduced Enzyco, a biological detergent brand certified as an Ecodetergent by Ecocert of France. The product drew attention for its use of locally sourced Vietnamese ingredients and environmentally friendly production technology.

On the sidelines of the fair, Vietnam’s Trade Counsellor in Germany Dang Thi Thanh Phuong and VOAA representatives held discussions with officials from Germany’s Import Promotion Desk (IPD) on the possibility of designating Vietnam as an IPD partner country, a move that could help Vietnamese exports access a broader network of German buyers.

Biofach is the world’s largest networking event for the organic food industry, attracting around 35,000 trade visitors and more than 2,200 exhibitors from nearly 90 countries, covering the entire organic value chain from production to retail. India was named the “Country of the Year” for Biofach 2026.
