Vietnam courts business opportunities at Horasis China Meeting 2024

VOV.VN - Vietnam expects foreign businesses, including those from China, to continue selecting the country as a leading investment destination for a win-win outcome, said Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha at the opening ceremony of Horasis China Meeting 2024 held in Binh Duong province on April 15.

Vietnam expects foreign businesses, including those from China, to continue selecting the country as a leading investment destination for a win-win outcome, said Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha at the opening ceremony of Horasis China Meeting 2024 held in Binh Duong province on April 15.

Addressing nearly 700 delegates, including businesspeople of both Vietnam and China at the gathering, Ha noted that Horasis China Meeting 2024 represents a great chance for the Governments, localities, and businesses of the two countries, as well as partners to share common values, working towards peace and stability in Asia in particular and the world at large.

In his opinion, Vietnam is gradually implementing an innovation strategy, with a primary focus on developing transportation infrastructure, green energy, digital transformation, and digital society. This gives foreign businesses, including Chinese firms, more room to invest in the Vietnamese market as it is an emerging and lucrative place to do business.

He therefore asked the forum to put forward initiatives for governments to together act and solve problems in carbon market development, green finance, and just energy transition in order to support businesses in accessing new technology and resources to respond to common challenges of the era.

The Vietnamese Government will continue to listen to businesses, create a favourable and transparent legal environment, and ensure the legitimate rights and interests of investors in the spirit of benefit harmonisation and risk sharing, stated the Deputy PM.

According to the leader, both the Vietnamese and Chinese economies can effectively support each other, at not only a national level, but also among businesses and localities towards new values.

He singled out Binh Duong as one of the country’s strongly developed industrial localities, ranking third nationwide in terms of attracting foreign investment with more than US$4,200 FDI projects. The locality’s dynamic development not only brings great synergy to the southern key economic region, but also makes an important contribution to the overall development of the whole country.

The Horasis China Meeting 2024 represents a good opportunity for Binh Duong to promote its image as an attractive and reliable investment destination, showcasing itself a city worth living in and developing in the long term, he said.

A number of valuable cooperation documents were signed at the forum. Among them, Becamex IDC Binh Duong signed a memorandum of understanding with Sunwah group to boost ties in the fields of innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable development towards the net zero commitment.

Binh Duong also unveiled a cooperation agreement between the Provincial People’s Committee and Viettel Post to develop logistics and e-commerce infrastructure, aiming to form an international logistics hub in the locality.

Horasis China Meeting 2024 is scheduled to take place in Binh Duong from April 14 to 16. The southern locality previously played host to Horasis Asia and Horasis India Meetings from 2018 to 2022, attracting large amounts of foreign investment.

Currently, Binh Duong is one of the three leading FDI attractors in Vietnam alongside Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
