Vietnam-Cambodia trade fair records over 2,000 business transactions

VOV.VN - The Vietnam-Cambodia Trade and Product Promotion Fair 2026 generated more than 2,000 business transactions and facilitated 60 business-matching meetings over four days in Phnom Penh, creating fresh opportunities for companies from both countries to expand trade and cooperation.

The event, known as Videx Cambodia 2026, concluded on October 17 after running from October 14 in the Cambodian capital. It took place as the two countries prepared activities for the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year 2027, marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations (June 24, 1967).

Trade connections and business opportunities

The fair, part of Vietnam’s National Trade Promotion Programme, was organised under the direction of the Vietnamese ministries of National Defence and Industry and Trade, and Cambodia’s ministries of National Defence and Commerce.

It showcased more than 1,000 products from 150 organisations and military-affiliated businesses from Vietnam and Cambodia, attracting over 15,000 visits during its four-day run.

Cambodian businesses showed particular interest in Vietnamese products and expressed a desire to explore cooperation in construction materials and equipment, agricultural produce, consumer goods, chemicals, fertilisers, high-tech agricultural products and garments.

The more than 2,000 business transactions and 60 business-matching meetings highlighted the fair’s role in connecting companies, promoting products and creating opportunities for cross-border trade.

Strengthening bilateral friendship and cooperation

Alongside trade promotion activities, defence diplomacy engagements involving senior officials from Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defence and the fair’s organising delegation were successfully conducted.

At the closing ceremony, the organising committee recognised 20 collectives and 30 individuals for their outstanding contributions to organising and participating in the event.

The successful conclusion of Videx Cambodia 2026 is expected to help strengthen the traditional friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cambodia while providing businesses from both countries with further opportunities to exchange products, establish partnerships and expand cooperation.
