Vietnam attends Int’l Trade Expo in Paraguay
(VOV) -The Vietnam Trade Office in Argentina is working with Vietnamese entities to attend an international trade expo in Paraguay in hopes of enhancing trade and investment with the South American nation.
Organizations from around the world were showcasing their wares in thousands of pavilions on opening day of the expo displaying everything from livestock, agriculture, industrials to services.
Vietnam was represented by a large number of exhibitors showcasing Made-in- Vietnam footwear, home appliances, coffee, rubber, garments and textiles, cashews and ceramics.
At the event Trade Office representatives will be working with both domestic and foreign businesses to explore the possibility of cooperation in agriculture and in particular importing beef, soybeans, green beans and cotton.
This year’s expo runs July 17-26 and organizers have announced it is expected to attract more than 800,000 visitors and that they hope to exceed last year’s trade deals, which amounted to US$200 million.
The event has attracted 1,700 entities from around the globe including representatives of the US, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Vietnam and Taiwan (China).
In 2014 the combined exports of Vietnam to the South American nations were US$26 million and imports tallied in at US$60 million resulting in a trade deficit of US$34 million.
