Vietnam attaches importance to symbiotic growth for mutual benefit

VOV.VN - Vietnam attaches importance to symbiotic growth for mutual benefit, considering it an important implication for each country’s development orientation, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dzung has said.

Dzung was speaking at the 2021 India Economic Conclave (IEC) virtually held on March 25-26.

According to the Vietnamese diplomat, to take advantage of opportunities, minimize risks, and adapt to new circumstances in the rapidly changing world, countries are required to adjust, innovate and transform towards sustainable and symbiotic development for mutual benefit.

The development of one country does not cancel out the development of another country, but on the contrary, it must contribute to pulling other countries and regions together, he said.

Deputy Minister Dzung emphasized the long-standing connection between Southeast Asia and India culturally and historically, and affirmed that India, an economy with strong potential and advanced science, is a responsible country in promoting sustainable economic development in the region.

India’s development contributes positively to symbiotic growth, as well as development, peace, prosperity in Southeast Asia, and vice versa, the dynamic development of Southeast Asia also contributes considerably to India’s growth, he noted.

The Deputy Foreign Minister highlighted Vietnam’s initial success in the COVID-19 fight, introduced in brief the national development strategy for 2021-2030, and suggested that Vietnam and India promote supply chain connectivity for medical equipment, pharmaceuticals and vaccines, while facilitating market access to each other’s commodities.

He said both countries should further support each other in reforming the World Trade Organisation, shaping digital trade governance rules, promoting innovations, and building research and development centers in Vietnam, while accelerating implementation of joint climate change projects within the framework of the Mekong-Ganga Cooperation Initiative.

IEC 2021 was the 7th conference of its kind organized by India’s Most Influential Media Network (the Times Network), which featured 33 presentations by Indian ministers, military commanders, and corporate leaders, as well as senior officials from many countries in the region.

Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dzung has been invited to attend the event as a keynote speaker to discuss the cooperative partnership between Vietnam and India for peace, development and prosperity.
