Vietnam Airlines earns pre-tax profit of nearly VND2 trillion

The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, has reported that its revenues in 2018 are estimated to hit VND73.3 trillion (over US$3.1 billion), meeting 99.8% of its set plan.

The carrier’s pre-tax profit is estimated at VND1.96 trillion (US$84.3 million), 0.04% higher than the set plan.

In the year, Vietnam Airlines operated 154,000 flights with over 340,000 flying hours, meeting 93% and 97% of the set plan.

It transported 22 million passengers, equivalent to the figure of 2017, meeting 91% of the set plan, and approximately 350,000 cargoes, accomplishing the yearly plan.

The carrier’s OTP departures hit 88.5%, a 0.5 point higher than the set goal while OTP arrivals reached 80%, meeting the set goal.
