The fair features over 200 standard booths, including 120 showcasing a wide range of Vietnamese products in fields such as pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, agriculture–forestry–fishery, processed foods, fashion and garment, handicrafts, interior and exterior decoration, and plastics, along with consumer goods.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Laos Minister of Industry and Trade Malaythong Kommasith highlighted the scale and diversity of this year’s expo, demonstrating the growing interest from businesses of both sides in expanding bilateral trade cooperation.

“Through this event, companies from both countries will have valuable opportunities to network, explore investment prospects, and sign cooperation agreements, thereby boosting trade turnover between Laos and Vietnam,” he said.

In addition to the exhibition, business networking sessions, B2B meetings, and trade promotion conferences are also taking place to facilitate commercial exchanges and partnership development.

VIETLAO EXPO is held annually by the Ministries of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and Laos to promote the national image and Vietnamese businesses, expand exports, and develop markets for Vietnamese products in Laos and the northeastern region of Thailand. The fair also serves as a vital platform for trade organisations and businesses from both countries to connect, exchange expertise, transfer technology, and explore joint ventures.

This year’s trade fair is due to run through to July 21.

Vietnam-Laos trade sees impressive 66.5% growth in January
