VietJet Air contributes over US$16.6 billion to state budget

Vietnam’s VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Company (VietJet Air) has contributed US$16.6 million to the state budget over the past seven months of this year.

By deploying 15 Airbus A320 more in the reviewed period, the low-budget carrier transported nearly 3 million passengers, an increase of 182% compared with the same time of 2013.

It earned US$182 million in revenues, a carrier’s representative has said.

The carrier is currently offering service on 27 domestic and international routes, with the latest international one linking Hanoi and Seoul, the Republic of Korea.

In 2013, the airline transported more than 4.3 million passengers, accounting for about 26% of the domestic market share.
