US anti-dumping duties on Vietnamese honey continue to fall
VOV.VN - Anti-dumping duties imposed on Vietnamese honey exports to the United States have continued to decline significantly from the levels recorded at the start of the trade case, offering a positive signal for exporters seeking to strengthen their position in one of the world's largest honey markets.
According to the Trade Remedies Authority under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) has issued its final determination in the administrative review covering imports of Vietnamese raw honey during the period from June 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024.
The review assigned dumping margins of 8.83% and 26.77% to the two mandatory respondent companies. Twelve other Vietnamese exporters that qualified for separate-rate treatment were given a duty rate of 17.80%, calculated as the simple average of the margins applied to the mandatory respondents.
Exporters that did not qualify for a separate rate remain subject to the Vietnam-wide anti-dumping duty rate of 60.03%.
Although the final duty rates are higher than the preliminary results announced by the DOC in late 2025 due to adjustments in the dumping margin calculation methodology, the outcome still reflects a markedly improved position compared with the initial stages of the case.
In the original investigation, many Vietnamese honey exporters faced anti-dumping duties ranging from 58.74% to 61.27%. During a previous administrative review, some duty rates reached nearly 157%. Compared with those levels, the latest review demonstrates a substantial reduction in tariff pressure for many exporters.
The final determination will be used by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to assess anti-dumping duties on shipments of Vietnamese raw honey that entered the United States during the review period.
The rates will also serve as the basis for future cash deposit requirements on Vietnamese raw honey imports once the review results are published in the Federal Register.
The DOC is expected to release the calculations and analysis supporting its final determination within five days of the public announcement, or within five days of publication of the notice if no public announcement is issued.
